The selling of custom merchandise today is a $50+ billion dollar business. With few exceptions, most of this business is focused strictly on making profits. Honesty and transparency about the various supply chains through which merchandise travels is hard to find, to the detriment of people and the planet.  Little is known about the working conditions and environmental circumstances surrounding this merchandise, the “stuff” of commerce.

These sweatfree, union, fair trade, buy local, and environmental organizations are resources helping to get out the truth. Without the good work they do, Solidarity eXchange would find it difficult to define the "ethical" part of our tagline. Though nothing in this listing should imply an endorsement by these organizations of Solidarity eXchange, we support their missions personally and as a company.  We strongly encourage anyone interested in applying for the Solidarity eXchange Fellowship Program to explore the resources these groups have to offer.
